In the past few years I have had the opportunity of traveling to over thirty countries for my work. Many individuals inform me that I have a dream job, and I 'd need to concur. When I was a youngster, nobody told me that there were tasks readily available that you got to compose and travel the world about the things you experienced and saw for other people to check out. If they had informed me, I would have understood my career goal all along. I would have been the only grade school kid who knew without a doubt that he wished to be a traveling reporter. A highlight of my journeys has been gathering a bowl or more at each place I've checked out.
I've constantly loved bowls and pottery. Since my dad was a professional potter and so he was constantly at the wheel tossing pots and bowls and other things, I think it began. I loved getting home from school and spending hours simply watching my daddy deal with his wheel. I like every kind of pottery he made, but nothing might excite me as much as an excellent bowl.
When I started traveling it was just natural that I would gather a bowl or 2 in each location I saw. I wanted to collect bowls because I knew they were something that I liked and that I could put to good use every day. I hate getting souveniers that I can not put to great usage. When I landed in England, the very first country I went to, I was impressed by the number of bowls there were to select from. I understood it was going to be harder than I thought to narrow things down to no greater than two bowls per nation.
I now have nearly sixty bowls from all around the world. I have bowls from every continent. Some were made in front of me by a local potter, others I bought from big storage facilities that offered bowls at discount rate. I have 2 large shelves in my home where bowl after bowl sits waiting on use. I am continuously turning the bowls I use for cereal and salads and other things.
If you will venture out into the world for taking a trip, I suggest here that you choose an excellent souvenier concept ahead of time. For me, acquiring a bowl or more has worked. If it may work for you too, see.
